Description
St. Jude's Cottage is a house with origins dating from the late 17th century and later alterations in the 18th century. It is constructed of rubble stone and features a Bridgwater tile roof with coped gables, a ridge stack, and end-wall stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic. The front was remodeled in the later 18th century, with the right side retaining its 17th-century origins and the left side likely dating from the later 18th century.
On the first floor, there are two paired 12-pane sash windows set in moulded architrave frames. The ground floor on the left has a large projecting late 19th-century shop front, while the right side features a floor band above 12-pane sashes and a 6-panel door in a moulded architrave, topped with a hood supported by brackets. There is one slate hipped dormer on this side. The rear section includes a first-floor 2-light ovolo-moulded mullion window. The left side has a single 12-pane sash in a moulded architrave on the first floor of the end wall, along with a 19th-century parallel rear range.
