Description

The Coates monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 15 metres south of the southwest angle of the nave of the Church of St. Mary. This late 18th-century tomb is made of pennant stone and features two shaped plaques on the north side adorned with husk drops, while the south side has two plainer plaques. The tomb has lyre ends also decorated with husk drops, and it is finished with a moulded base and capstone.
