Description

Number 53 on North Street is an 18th-century building made of red brick with a pitched tile roof. It has two storeys and features a brick modillion eaves cornice. On the first floor, there are two cased sash windows with glazing bars. The ground floor includes one cased sash window and a door set in a doorcase that has moulded pilasters, an open pediment, and a blind semi-circular fanlight. The ground floor also features a 19th-century shopfront. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 41 to 59 (odd).
