Description
This is a town house, built around 1809, with attached forecourt railings. It was designed by Robert Blee, a local builder. The front of the house is constructed from local freestone ashlar, with the roof concealed behind a parapet. The building follows a double-depth plan with a single room at the front, and extends over a basement. It has three storeys and a two-window façade. The front features a plinth and a round-arched doorway on the right-hand side, containing a six-panel door and a plain fanlight. Shallow, segmental arches with projecting keyblocks frame the late 19th or early 20th century, horned four-pane sash windows. There’s a moulded cornice below the parapet. The interior was not inspected but is likely to be of interest. Original, simple wrought-iron railings, with urn finials to the stanchions, run along the front of the property on a plinth.
