Description
No. 36 King Street is a warehouse built around 1905, which has been converted into offices. The building features red brick construction with limestone and terracotta decorations, and its roof is not visible. It stands five storeys tall and has a symmetrical front with a three-window range. The façade includes thin continuous drips raised over the openings, flush ashlar sill bands above the ground floor, and yellow terracotta moulded strings above the second and third-floor windows. There is a bracketed cornice and a parapet with a raised gable that contains a keyed oculus. The ground floor has keyed segmental-arched doorways, with wider outer carriage arches. The upper windows are small keyed segmental-arched windows, and the outer first-floor windows drop below the sill bands. The glazing is from the late 20th century. The interior has been completely rebuilt for office use.
