Description

The Old Rectory is a detached house, originally the rectory for the parish. It likely has a 17th-century core, with significant alterations and additions dating to the 18th century and 1803. The house is constructed of rubble, with rendered gable ends and rear walls, and features brick dressings, wooden lintels, and pantile roofs with stone copings and ridges. The northeast facade, three storeys high, faces the village green and has two windows. The left-hand windows on this facade were elongated in 1803 and contain 28 panes of glass each. A right-hand ground-floor window is a 16-pane casement, and the window above is a pair of 16-pane sashes. There are several brick stacks. A two-storey rear range has several 18th-century six-pane sashes, including one early 18th-century sash with eighteen panes. The southeast front has a 19th-century six-panel door with a patterned, semi-circular fanlight above.
