Description

The Step House is a 17th or earlier timber-framed house. It was originally timber-framed and has been refaced with stone rubble and red brick dressings, including quoins and a string course. The original timbering, now with plaster infilling, is still visible in the north wall. The roof is half-hipped and tiled. Modern casement windows have been fitted. The building has two stories and a basement. It is three windows wide.
