Description

This is an early 19th century terrace of cottages located on Fishbourne Road, divided into two sections. Numbers 84 and 86 have a higher frontage and ridgeline compared to the rest of the terrace. The terrace comprises 12 cottages, with each cottage generally having one bay, except for numbers 84 and 86 which have three bays between them, with the central one now blocked. The roofs are tiled and hipped. The fronts are built of flint, with galletted flints, and feature red brick quoins and dressings. The cottages have sash windows. Glazing bars are missing from the windows of numbers 84 and 86, but remain intact in numbers 88 to 96, where the lower windows are set within slightly segmental headings. Doorways are topped by hoods shaped like pediments, supported by brackets; these hoods are present on all but number 84. Original wooden boarded doors are present in most cottages, although numbers 84, 94, and 96 have more recent doors.
