Description

The King’s Arms Hotel is a hotel dating from around 1840, though with earlier origins. The front of the building is stuccoed, with older limestone rubble walling at the rear. It has a gabled roof covered in Welsh slate, and brick internal and end stacks. The hotel is in an L-shape, with a wing projecting to the rear right. It is three storeys high, with a four-window front. A porch features Doric cast-iron columns, leading to a central six-panelled door with two glazed panels. Canted bay windows with plate-glass sashes are on the outer bays, and other windows have two-pane plate-glass sashes. A late 19th-century wing extends to the rear right, built of colourwashed brick with a Welsh slate roof. Inside, there is a mid-19th century staircase to the rear, and cased beams.
