Description
Mather's Farmhouse is a 17th-century building located at the east corner of Larkins Lane. It has a double rectangular L-shaped plan with a wing extending to the northwest down Larkins Lane. The farmhouse is two storeys high, constructed of rubble with a stone slate roof. On the west end of the south elevation, there is a projecting stone stack topped with a modern red brick shaft. The facade features four two-light stone mullioned windows with partly renewed caveto mouldings. The south doorway is adorned with a moulded flat hood supported by scrolled and enriched brackets. The northwest wing contains a central stone-based 17th-century stack with a brick shaft, a modern tiled roof, and casement windows set in modern yellow brick frames. Inside, the farmhouse includes some 18th-century and earlier panelling.
