Description
The Clock House is a stable building, dating to approximately 1813, that has been converted into a house. It is constructed of coursed stone with galletting, featuring a wooden box cornice to the nipped slate roofs. The prominent central projection has a pediment and contains a recessed arch with a thermal window above and double boarded doors with a transom light below. To either side of the central projection are three-bay wings with multi-pane sash windows set within recessed arch surrounds. A deep, central wooden porch-hood is supported by two Tuscan columns. The enclosure is surrounded by walls, ranging in height from 5 to 7 feet, leading south to two square, low-pitched, pyramidal slate-roofed pavilions with double boarded garage doors to the north. Two square piers on the east side break the walls, incorporating fair wooden piers and two central gates.
