Description
Leacon Farmhouse is a building that likely dates from the 15th to 16th century and was re-fronted in red brick in the 18th century. It has two storeys and features a hipped tiled roof with smoke louvres and two brick chimney stacks. The farmhouse has three casement windows with round-headed lights, which are locally referred to as Dering windows. These windows were commonly inserted in all the cottages and farms belonging to the estate of Surrenden Dering in the Parish of Pluckley, probably by Sir Edward Cholmeley Dering, 8th Baronet, who owned the estate from 1811 to 1896.
