Description
The William Harvey Public House, formerly known as Nos 1 & 2 Harvey Cottages, is a timber-framed building dating from the 15th to 16th century, located on Sevington Road in Willesborough. The first floor overhangs on brackets. The southwest front features a first floor that has been refaced with curved tiles, while the north front is finished with red brick and tiles. The rest of the building is plastered, and it has a tiled roof with two hips. There are three casement windows, along with some traces of original window openings. The southeast front includes a gable with a pendant, and beneath it, there is a small four-light bay window on each floor, featuring wooden mullions. William Harvey, known for discovering the circulation of the blood, often stayed here.
