Description

Hamden Grange is a timber-framed building dating from the 14th century. The original timber frame is visible beneath the eaves, but the exterior was largely refaced with red brick and grey headers in 1839. The roof is tiled. Casement windows have small square leaded panes. The north-west half of the building is two stories high with two windows and a hipped roof, featuring a brick chimney breast on the north-west wall. The south-east half consists of a single story with an attic, accented by two gabled dormers and a gabled porch. The building retains its original cruck base, aisle post, and crown post construction.
