Description

Kingpost is a 15th-century timber-framed house located on Rolvenden High Street. It has two storeys, with plaster infilling and some close-studding on the ground floor, while the first floor is weatherboarded and overhangs on brackets. The house features a steeply pitched hipped tiled roof, three casement windows, and a small bay window on the ground floor. At the northern end, there is an 18th-century addition with one window bay made of painted brick, and beyond this is an 18th-century workshop, which is no longer used as such. This workshop is two storeys high, faced with weatherboarding, has a tiled roof, and includes a long continuous window with many panes on the first floor.
