Description

Bec House is an 18th-century house, formerly the rectory. It is constructed of brick and tile. The symmetrical south front is two storeys high with seven windows, the upper east side being filled in. It has a hipped roof with brick dentil eaves. The walls are built in Flemish bond, with rubbed flat arches over the ground-floor windows. The windows are sash windows in exposed frames. An arched entrance has a plain architrave, panelled reveals, a fanlight, and a six-panelled door with an arched hood supported on carved brackets. The rear elevation features narrow horizontal panels of flint, cambered openings, casement windows, and a doorway with a six-panelled door with two glazed panels above, set beneath a hood. The end elevations also incorporate flint panels, and a single-storey block was added in the late 19th century at the east end.
