Description

The Water House is a mid-18th century house, originally a miller’s house. It is constructed of brick with an old plain tile roof. The main body of the house is two stories and an attic, with a double pile arrangement of three bays. A right-hand wing was added in the 19th century. A central, 19th-century gabled brick porch features an archway. To either side of the porch are 19th-century French windows, approached by stone steps set under original, rubbed brick openings. On the first floor, there are three 16-pane sash windows set within rubbed brick arches. The roof is hipped with overhanging eaves, and a 20th-century three-light, flat-roofed dormer is centrally positioned. Brick end stacks are present. A single-story brick range from the 19th century extends to the right, incorporating large 12-pane sash and French windows under a hipped roof.
