Description

The Old Rectory is a large house dating from 1851, built in a Georgian style with a slightly lower wing extending to the north. It has an irregular facade. The east front features a central Tuscan porch with flanking walls that terminate in pilasters and then detached columns, all raised on three steps, and a three-window wing set back. The south front has three bays and includes a two-story hexagonal bay. The west front features a tall arched window above a simple front door. The roof is hipped and covered in slate, with wide eaves. The house has massive, elaborately detailed chimney stacks, though one is now missing. The walls are constructed from yellow brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with stone dressings. Details include projecting quoins, cills, a plinth band, and flush surrounds to the ground-floor triple windows. The windows are sash windows set in reveals.
