Description

The Parish Church of St Mary in Selmeston is a Grade II listed building, constructed from flint with tiled roofs. It features a chancel with a south chapel and a nave with a south aisle, along with a bell turret. The medieval church was largely rebuilt on its original foundations by Ewan Christian between 1865 and 1867, during which the south chapel was added, reflecting a 14th-century style. The nave is supported by two wooden octagonal pillars on stone bases, similar to the arrangement in the previous church. The chancel includes a late Perpendicular Easter Sepulchre.
