Description

42 London Road is an early 19th-century building that stands two storeys tall and features three windows. The first floor is weather-boarded, and there is an eaves cornice beneath a hipped slate roof. The glazing bars are intact. The ground floor has been constructed as a shop front, with a colonnade of four slender iron columns that support a canopy. This canopy has likely been extended at a later date with a scalloped wooden pelmet.
