Description

St Martin's Chapel, located within the Old Heritage and Heritage Crafts School, is a Gothic building constructed in 1913, funded by Mrs Harcourt Rose. The architects were Sir Ninian Comper and his son, Sebastian Comper. The chapel features a chancel, nave, and a north aisle, with a tower at the west end topped by a broached shingled spire. The exterior is made of ashlar stone and has a tiled roof. It consists of four bays, which are flanked by buttresses. Inside, there is an angel-roof that is partly painted and partly gilded.
