Description

The Hastings Fishermen's Museum, at 21 Rock-a-Nore Road, Hastings, was built in 1854 as a Fishermen's Church and is now a museum. It is a plain building constructed of coursed stone, with stuccoed south, east, and west walls, and an exposed masonry north wall featuring stuccoed quoins. The roof is low-pitched and slated, with coped gable ends. A stone cross sits at the apex of the east gable and a bellcote at the west. The north and south walls feature tall lancet windows, with a later lean-to vestry added to the south wall. Tripartite lancets are present at the east and west ends, the west ones being taller. A four-centred arch doorway is located at the west ends of both the north and south walls. There is no division between the nave and chancel, and the west end contains a gallery.
