Description
The Old Corner House is a house dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of red brick with an old tile roof. The house has two storeys, a plat band, a cornice band, a coped parapet, and end stacks. The front facade is arranged with three bays, featuring glazing bar sashes with exposed boxes and gauged heads. A central six-panelled door, with the upper two panels glazed, is set within a doorcase consisting of fluted Doric pilasters supporting an entablature and triangular pediment. A one-storey wing projects to the left, also with a coped parapet and corner piers surmounted by orb finials. This wing has one glazing bar sash to its front and a door in its right-hand return front. A fire insurance plaque is visible on the right-hand gable end.
