Description

The Croft is a building dating from around 1898, designed by T E Collcutt as his personal residence. It has a 'U' plan layout with an entrance court and a stable yard on the right. The ground storey is constructed of red brick and stone, featuring mullioned windows, while the first storey is roughcast with some timbering and additional mullioned windows. There is a verandah on the garden front, and the building has a tiled roof with prominent chimneys. Inside, there are notable features including a staircase and De Morgan tiles. The Croft is a fine example of the 'Olde English' architectural style.
