Description
Badmondisfield Hall is a Grade II* listed building that was formerly owned by the Somerset, North, and Warner families. This 15th-century timber-framed structure features exposed timber-framing, with some sections having plaster infill and others brick nogging. It was restored in the 20th century and has two storeys and attics, although the top storey was removed in the 18th century. The windows are 20th-century casements, with some restored to match the original style. The roof is tiled and includes two gabled dormers on the front.
Inside, the hall boasts a remarkable 15th-century space with exposed timber-framing and arched braces. There are two impressive doorways with carved spandrels; one features figures of angels with harps, while the other depicts figures playing drums and tambourines. Additionally, there is a fine 15th-century panelled room that includes an 18th-century doorway.
