Description
Abbots Mead is a house located on Baylham Church Lane, likely dating from around 1600 or earlier. It is a single storey building with attics and features a three-cell plan. The structure is timber-framed and rough-cast, topped with a pantiled roof that has a central axial chimney made of red brick and flat-roofed dormers added in the 20th century. The windows are a mix of 19th and 20th century casements with three lights. There is a rear entrance door, and a rear wing that resembles the main part of the house and may be of a similar age. Although the interior has not been seen, it is reported to have good quality timber-framing.
