Description

Theberton House is a house with an 18th century core that was extensively altered in 1830. It is constructed of brick and stucco, topped with a slated roof. The building has two storeys and features a five-window range arranged in a 2:1:2 pattern, with the bays defined by twin pilasters. The central entrance bay has a tall elliptical-headed design, crowned by a moulded ogee finial. The windows are early 20th century casements, featuring ornate curved glazing bars in the top lights and moulded architraves.

The central bay includes elliptical-headed openings, with a doorway that has twin four-panel doors, the upper three of which are glazed, and a fanlight with similar ornate glazing bars. Above the first-floor window, there is a square decorative panel. A string course runs along the outer bays at the upper first-floor level. The house is topped with a heavy moulded cornice and a stepped parapet. The quoin pilasters are adorned with ornate four-faced semi-circular finials. The chimneys have moulded caps, and there is a lantern located at the rear of the roof. At the back of the house, there is a two-storey servant's wing.

Inside, the house features a fine ornate bronze staircase and some moulded plasterwork in the ground floor rooms.
