Description

Crossingford Lodge is a timber-frame house dating to the 16th and 17th centuries, situated on Doctor’s Lane in Pulham St Mary. The building is arranged in ranges at right angles, creating an L-shaped plan. The eastern range is a 16th-century timber-frame structure which has been encased in brick. It is one storey high with an attic, and features mostly modern casement windows. A brick chimney stack is located off-centre. The western range is a 17th-century structure with plastered and brick-faced walls, and includes an off-centre brick chimney stack. It is two storeys high with an attic and has four widely spaced windows; these are early 19th-century three-light sash windows with glazing bars. A late 19th-century conservatory extends from the ground floor. Inside, the ceiling beams display an ovolo moulded chamfer.
