Description

The Old Rectory is a timber-frame house dating to the late 16th and early 17th centuries. It has a tiled roof with one end gabled and one end hipped. The house is two storeys high with an attic. It features five windows widely spaced along the front. The two northern bays date to the 17th and 18th centuries and include a gabled wing to the rear, on the northwest side. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, and are early 19th-century casements, originally centered but now off-center. The attic gable contains a moulded mullioned window. There are two glazed doors with Victorian gabled wooden porches. A brick chimney stack is located behind the gable at the center of the original house. A rear wing, on the southwest side, is likely from the 17th century, plastered, and has a 19th-century addition.
