Description

The White House, Mission Hall Cottage and Mission Hall form a complex of buildings dating back to around 1800. The chapel, built in 1809 as indicated by the inscription "R G W 1809", is a single-storey whitewashed brick structure with a hipped pantiled roof. It features three wooden mullioned and transomed casement windows from the early 19th century, with glazing bars. A six-panelled wooden door is set within a return. Adjacent to the south is Mission Hall Cottage, likely a barn conversion from around 1800, constructed from brick and flint. It’s two storeys high, with two 2-light casements on the ground floor and four 20th-century casements on the first floor. An arched barn door is also present. Further south stands the White House, with brick and flint walls and two 3-light casement windows on each floor, with a single sash window with glazing bars to the left wing on both floors. It has a doorcase dating from around 1800, featuring a pedimented head and panelled reveals, leading to a panelled door. An outshut is located at the rear of the White House and the cottage.
