Description

Westward House is an 18th-century house, likely originating from 1702, built of brick and limewashed. It is two storeys and has an attic. The south-facing garden front has five near-flush frame sash windows on the first floor, now with glazing bars only in the centre, and three near-flush frame sash windows with glazing bars on the ground floor, alongside a casement window; all ground floor windows have segmental heads. Two near-flush frame sash windows are present on the first floor of the west-facing elevation, one retaining glazing bars. A small casement window is also present. A single-storey wing to the east contains the main entrance, featuring a six-panel door flanked by small casement windows. Inside, there is a close-string dog-leg staircase with turned balusters and square newels, along with fielded panelled doors secured with H hinges.
