Description
The Manor House is a house dating from the early 19th century, with a front elevation applied to an earlier structure. It is constructed of red brick, featuring a hipped slate roof and pantiled roofs on the rear wings. The building is two storeys high, with a three-bay east facade divided by plain brick pilasters. It has sash windows with glazing bars, set within rubbed brick arches. The central doorway has a half-glazed, two-leaf door, accompanied by a doorcase comprising an entablature on fluted Doric columns. A wooden eaves cornice with paired brackets runs along the top of the facade. A 20th-century canted bay, rendered and colourwashed, is located on the south side. Two chimney stacks are symmetrically placed behind the ridge line. A two-and-a-half storey hipped wing extends to the west, with a stepped parapet on the north wall. Within the west range is a staircase dating from around 1600, featuring turned balusters and large carved newels, likely reset in its current location.
