Description

The Crooked Billet is an 18th-century public house with later 19th-century additions. Originally a two-room, weatherboarded cottage with a central brick stack, it was extended to the south in the 19th century. A further range was added to the east, likely in the late 19th or early 20th century. Outshuts are located to the north and rear of the original cottage. The west front has three windows and features 19th-century casement windows with glazing bars. A panelled and glazed door is centrally positioned beneath a small, 20th-century gabled porch, with a second entrance on the left, also with glazing and a canopy. The interior retains a boarded dado in the original right-hand room, and a kitchen in the left-hand room. Attic chambers have ceilings, but the tie-beams remain exposed.
