Description
22 High Street is an early 18th-century house that stands two storeys tall, constructed from blue brick with red dressings. It features a deep cornice with modillions beneath a steep tiled roof, which is hipped at the northern end and includes three round-headed dormers. The ground floor has modern shop windows, while the upper storey has a slightly projecting bay, also dressed in red, which contains a central window flanked by four additional sash windows, all set in broad flush frames. The cornice above the central bay is enhanced by an extra dentil course and extends upwards through the bottom of the roof. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 16 to 26 on the same street.
