Description

Cherry Green Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century or earlier, with alterations from the 17th and early 19th centuries, and an extension added in the 1880s. It is constructed with a timber frame, with the east gable end having roughcast render, while the rest of the house is faced in red and grey brick, applied in stages. The roof is steeply pitched and covered in red tiles.

Originally built as an L-shaped house of two storeys and attics facing south, it includes a two-storey rear wing to the northeast, and a large chimney at the junction of the wings, featuring engaged diagonal shafts. A two-storey gabled wing of red brick was added in the 19th century to the northwest, and a half-timbered two-storey range to the middle of the west side. The east gable of the original south range is faced with 17th-century red brick in English bond, featuring a raised floorband and segmental arches to flush box sash windows (19th-century sashes). An attic window is a two-light casement. The south front, three windows wide, is faced in grey brick and has flush box sash windows with 6/6 panes and segmental arches. A roughcast gabled porch is located under the right-hand window, and features a round-headed glazed door. The rear wing is cased in 19th-century red brick with corner pilasters.
