Description

Chipping Hill House is a timber-framed house dating from the late 15th or early 16th century, with alterations made in the 18th century. It has two storeys and attics, plus cellars. A cross wing extends from the north end. The roof is covered with red plain tiles. The front facade is of 19th-century painted brick with a parapet, featuring double-hung sash windows with glazing bars and a moulded brick string course. Inside the main block, some timber framing is visible, including stop-chamfered bridging joists. The cross wing retains moulded bridging joists with rolls and sunk chamfers, supported on solid knee braces.
