Description
No 31 and No 32 on West Street, formerly known as the Shepherd and Dog Inn, date back to 1593. This two-storey building features exposed timber framing, with an originally projecting upper storey that has been under-built in brick. It has a tiled roof with a projecting gable at the south-west end. The front includes three two-storey bay windows, which have later window frames, and a mix of replacement sashes and casements. The entrance has one six-panel door and one two-panelled door. Notable decorative elements include enriched bargeboards, bressummers, and gable pendants. A central chimney stack is topped with grouped diagonal shafts.
