Description

The buildings at 47 and 49 Coleshill Street date from around 1840, representing a remodelling of an earlier house. They are built with colour-washed roughcast walls and have a tiled roof with truncated, octagonally shafted chimney stacks. The two-storey structure features five wood mullioned and transomed casement windows. The first floor has a central Tudor-style dripmould, while the flanking windows are of three lights. The central ground floor doorway is distinguished by semi-octagonal attached columns supporting a panelled entablature. Flanking the doorway are three-light mullioned and transomed windows, also with Tudor-style dripmoulds. A court entrance is located on the right side, while a battened door and sash window are present on the left. These buildings contribute to the group value of numbers 43 to 63 (odd) on Coleshill Street.
