Description
No. 50 St John Street is a house that has been converted into a shop, dating from around 1800. It is built of brick and features a tile roof with brick end stacks, following an L-plan layout and exhibiting Georgian style. The building has two storeys and a symmetrical arrangement of windows. A prominent top cornice made of brick is adorned with modillions. The entrance showcases a mid-19th century doorcase with panelled pilaster strips and a deep canopy supported by enriched brackets, leading to a 20th-century half-glazed door with an overlight above. The windows are fitted with sills and have rubbed brick flat arches over 12-pane sash windows, with the window above the entrance being blind. The interior of the ground floor has been altered.
