Description

These are a group of three houses, dating from around 1740. They are built of brick, with a plain tile roof and brick chimney stacks at the rear. The houses have a three-room plan, extending over two storeys, with an attic and cellar. The front has a three-window arrangement. On the left, there is a three-light window with a central metal casement, set within a segmental arch. The central window is a two-light casement, also within a segmental arch. To the right is a three-light casement, interrupting a horizontal band across the front. There are three early 20th-century dormers with casements. A central plank door is set within a chamfered and moulded doorcase, in an altered opening. To the left, there is a four-light window with metal glazing bars and a casement, under a segmental arch; to the right, a blocked opening and a four-light window with a moulded oak case.

A ground floor room on the right has a blocked corner fireplace and exposed ceiling beams. A ground floor room on the left has an exposed spine-beam with run-out stops. The central passage features exposed box framing and ceiling beams, as well as plank doors, the one to the left being within a moulded case.

The rear of the building has wood mullion windows, some of which are partly blocked with brick. There is a two-light casement, with a 20th-century twin casement above, both in an altered opening. An 18th-century three-light metal window is located to the right. An outshut connects to number 25, which has 17th-century box framing with brick nogging on the edge of the first floor, overlying 18th-century brickwork. Other features of number 25 include a 20th-century two-light casement to the first floor, a 20th-century door to the right, and a 19th-century two-light casement to the left. A brick stack is located on the corner.

The left return is of rubble construction with a brick gable, containing various window openings and blocked openings.
