Description
These are two late 16th-century timber-frame and plaster buildings, originally numbers 5 and 6 St Mary’s Street. The buildings are two storeys high with an attic, and feature two early 19th-century sash windows, one casement window, and simple wooden doorcases. A tiled penthouse projection is present at number 5. The roof has plain eaves with an overhang on the right-hand side, exposed timber sprockets, and three restored gabled dormers covered in tiles. The buildings are part of a group which includes number 3, New Inn, numbers 5 to 14 (consecutively), and numbers 18 to 30 (consecutively) on St Mary’s Street.
