Description

Pencombe War Memorial is a First World War memorial, likely erected in the 1920s. The memorial features a stone, capped Latin cross with a tapering octagonal shaft, which displays a relief carving of the sword of sacrifice. It is positioned on a substantial two-tier octagonal plinth that has a large square base, set flush with the ground. The main inscription is located on the front face of the plinth and reads: LEST WE FORGET/ (4 NAMES)/ MAY THEY REST IN PEACE/.
