Description
The Church of St Giles is a Grade II* listed building located in Acton Beauchamp. It dates from the 12th to 15th centuries, although it was mostly rebuilt in 1819 in a Georgian style. The church features a nave, chancel, and a west tower. The rebuilt chancel and nave include attractive arched windows. The only remnant of the medieval structure is the late Norman south doorway. A notable feature is a mutilated but finely carved 9th-century stone, which has been reused as a lintel for the south door of the tower; it is part of a cross-shaft. The tower is topped with a pyramid roof and has re-set lancet windows. Inside, there is a late 15th-century font.
