Description
Highfield House is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of brick, with gabled and catslide pantile roofs. The house has a partial rendered plinth, a first-floor band, cogged eaves, and two gable and one rear wall stack. The main range is three bays wide, with a single-bay rear outshut. The windows are mostly glazing bar sashes and casements, with rendered splayed lintels. The front elevation has a 20th-century door with an overlight in the centre, flanked by single sashes. Above are three casements. The west gable has a 20th-century casement window in the garret. The east gable has a sash window to the left on the ground floor, with two small casements above in the garret. An adjoining 19th-century outbuilding, constructed of brick and rendered with a pantile roof, has a 20th-century casement window to the south and a 20th-century casement window and door to the east, all with segmental heads.
