Description

Willoughby House is a house, later converted into flats, built around 1795 by William Revill, a joiner. A two-storey projecting front was added in the late 19th century. The house is constructed of brick, with a slate roof, cogged eaves, coped gables, and three gable stacks. It is arranged over three storeys with an L-shaped plan and five windows across the front. The second floor has five small windows with glazing bars. The front addition features moulded terracotta cornices and a parapet. The central recessed section is flanked by single square bays. The windows are mostly plain sashes, with segmental heads to the ground floor. The recessed central doorway has a late 18th century moulded stone doorcase with a fanlight and cornice supported on consoles. Either side of the door are two sashes. Above the door is a round-headed window flanked by two sashes on each side, all with keystoned heads.
