Description
The Harby-with-Swinethorpe War Memorial is a First World War memorial that was unveiled on 2 October 1920 during a ceremony attended by Major Jarvis of Doddington Hall and serving service personnel. It is made of stone and is situated in the churchyard of All Saints Church, which is also a Grade II listed building, to the east of the church.
The memorial features a square tapering obelisk that is mounted on a two-tiered rectangular tapering plinth and a rectangular base. Two faces of the plinth display a wreath in relief, while another face has a metal plaque with raised lettering. The inscription reads: "TO THE GLORY OF GOD / AND IN MEMORY OF / (9 NAMES) / WHO FELL IN THE / GREAT WAR 1914-18 / THIS MONUMENT IS ERECTED / BY THE PARISHIONERS OF / HARBY WITH SWINETHORPE."
