Description

The building is a house, originally Beckingham railway station, dating back to around 1875. It is constructed of gault brick with red brick, blue brick, and stone dressings, topped with a concrete slab roof. The building has a single side wall, a single ridge stack, and a single gable stack. It sits on a blue brick plinth and features four bands of red brick, arranged over two storeys and four bays in a T-shaped plan. A gabled wing on the left side has paired sash windows on each floor, with red brick segmental heads. A single-storey, one-bay lean-to to the left has a single glazing bar sash window with a segmental head. The main range to the right has a central blocked doorway, flanked by single glazing bar sashes; above, there are three similar sashes, all with segmental heads. To the right of the main range is a ticket office, one storey and one bay, featuring a pair of plain sashes with segmental heads. Adjacent to that is a one-storey, one-bay toilet block with a pair of close-boarded doors with segmental heads. Beyond the toilet block, a boundary wall, constructed of gault brick with stone coping, extends approximately 25 meters. This wall incorporates recessed red brick panels.
