Description

This is a large house, now divided into separate dwellings, dating from the early 17th century. It is constructed from coursed square rubble with a plinth. The house is three storeys high with an attic, and has four bays. A full-height gabled porch with moulded stone jambs to the doorway sits prominently at the front. The windows are mullioned, with stone chamfers, some retaining hood moulds. Stone copings and kneelers are present on the gable ends, though the left-hand gable’s kneelers are missing. A large stack, built from rubble and finished with brick, is located behind the porch. The side elevations feature two-light mullion windows on each floor and in the gable, all with hood moulds. The house is built into a bank, resulting in only two storeys at the rear. The rear elevation includes a doorway and a single three-light mullion window, both with hood moulds. A four-centred arched doorway, now blocked, is located to the left of the stack, along with various altered windows.
