Description

The Old Rectory is a house, originally a rectory, likely dating from the mid-18th century, with alterations and raising occurring in the early to mid-19th century. It is rendered with a slate roof, featuring flat wooden eaves supported by paired, shaped brackets, and rendered chimneys. The house is three storeys high, with five bays. The ground and first floors have 18th-century 3-pane sash windows set within 19th-century architrave frames, and with sills supported by brackets. The second floor has 20th-century 2-light wooden casements in matching surrounds. The central entrance has a half-glazed door, topped with a blind rectangular fanlight, set within a doorcase featuring pilaster strips, carved capitals, paterae, and a pediment. A second door, located in the left gable end, is six-panelled with a semi-circular fanlight and a doorcase comprised of attached columns, fluted capitals, an entablature, and an open pediment with a reeded soffit. Rear extensions have been added.
