Description
The Old Manor House is a house largely dating to the 16th century, with evidence of later phases of building or rebuilding. It is timber framed, constructed using a post and truss system, with brick panel infill. A brick bay is present on the right-hand side, featuring granite in the gable wall. The roof is thatched.
The house is two stories high and comprises three bays of timber framing, together with the brick bay. The brick bay features two renewed casement windows to the right of the doorway, which is likely an 18th-century addition. The right-hand timber framed bay has continuous vertical posts, one of which is arch braced, resting on padstones and featuring a single middle rail. This bay contains the doorway. The two bays beyond are taller, possibly of a slightly later date. The outer posts are curved and arched braced, with straight braces to the central post, and two middle rails. Windows are renewed three-light casements on each floor. A stack is located behind the entrance.
